We're turning the Hamdard Center into a POP UP art gallery.

Please join us for the FREE closing celebration/exhibit for the Craft(ing) Culture(s) series. Celebrate craft as art. Explore migration, renewal, and reimagination in refugee and immigrant communities.

Enjoy live music, tastings, an art & craft market featuring immigrant & refugee women artisans and entrepreneurs, art-making stations, and an interactive GIS map about migration. 

Meet amazing artists including: 
Bosnian Artisans from the CEW Design Studio
Ibtessam Asfour, Palestinian embroidery artist 
Mrs. Chay, Korean quilting artist
Yasmin Ali, South Asian fabric artist, musician, and painter.
Abraham Mellish, musician and Liberian immigrant.
Compass Rose/Rosa de los Vientos, members of Chicago Folklore Ensemble honoring musical traditions from immigrant communities.
